Room 5's Meerkat Whānau!

Week 6 Home learning

Kia ora from Miss Halsall-Rae

Kia ora whānau of Room 5! I am the new teacher intern in Room 5 until the end of the term. I have really enjoyed my first couple of weeks in Room 5, they are such an awesome class to be a part of. All of the students have been so welcoming, and I have enjoyed getting to know them all! Last week we ended the week with some Art, which was a blast and we all had lots of fun. Our focus for writing last week was 'Flying Houses', so we had a go at creating our own using watercolours. Our pictures aren't quite finished, but we will share some photos of the finished artwork once they are done. Ngā mihi India Halsall-Rae Teacher Intern

Sophia's awesome home learning!!

Sophia has been a busy bee with her home learning challenges this week, check out her awesome work and things she has been up to at home! A reminder that our home learning is up on the class site at  https://sites.google.com/nbc.school.nz/room5nbc2022/home-learning  and love to receive photos about things the children are doing outside of school, we love to celebrate these!

Inquiry Learning

For our inquiry, we have been learning about the Charism of NBC and looking at the importance of a community. Today we brainstormed who are the helpers in our community and discussed why they are important and what they do for a community. We came up with teachers, doctors/nurses, hairdressers, firefighters, cafe/restaurant staff and many more. We then got out into the beautiful sunny afternoon with chalk to work in groups to present a chosen community helper. We noticed a trend, Room 5 are very fond of their whanau and their work as many chose to create their workplaces.  Happy Friyay, have a safe weekend!
